What you give
A planner is forgotten by February. A star is never forgotten
An iron meteorite is a fragment of the core of a shattered protoplanet. Its pattern took millions of years to form while the metal cooled in the void. No workshop on Earth can repeat it.
- 4.5 bn
- years — the age of the metal in the gift
- 1906
- the year Muonionalusta was found in northern Sweden, above the Arctic Circle
- 1898
- the year the Aletai meteorite was found in China
Older than history
In Ancient Egypt iron was called metal of the sky
Tutankhamun's dagger was forged from a meteorite. For thousands of years sky iron was seen as a gift of the gods, worn by kings and priests. Giving it today, you say without words: this person is special to us.
Not an object. A sign.
